Director, Office of Development and Public Relations, University of Balamand, Al-Koura, Lebanon. Duties include overseeing all fundraising activities of the University, i.e., grant-writing, organizing special events, and designing a tenth anniversary fundraising campaign; writing and producing a quarterly Newsletter; writing and disseminating press releases; liaising with representatives of the print and audio-visual media; maintaining donor files in a data-base format; writing text for the University’s Home Page; and producing and scripting two video presentations for the Tenth Anniversary Fundraising Campaign.

Editor-in-Chief Al-Raida (“The Pioneer”), the quarterly journal of the Institute for Women’s Studies in the Arab World, Lebanese American University, Beirut, Lebanon.
1988-1989
Senior Programs Coordinator, National Council on US-Arab Relations, Washington, D.C. This position involved overseeing academic and congressional study tour programs in the Middle East, restructuring and monitoring a grants program, and organizing follow-up activities for the alumni of study tours for college professors, high school honors students, and congressional staffers. Other duties included serving as chief organizer and coordinator of networking among alumni of all National Council programs and affinity groups, acting as liaison between the National Council and its many state committees; and assisting in the editing, design, and production of publications. In addition, I represented the National Council at conferences and meetings at the United Nations, throughout the United States, and in the Middle East, and served as the Council’s key contact person with peace groups and human rights organizations.
